Rachel’s Vineyard Singapore – Healing the pain of abortion, one weekend at a time

Many women – and men too – have suffered from being, in one way or another, involved with an abortion. They remain locked in their own internal prisons, out of the fear that someone may come to know their deep secret and guilt.

Abortion was made legal in Singapore in the 1970s.  Thousands of babies have been aborted since the introduction of the Abortion Act.  In 2008 alone, the Singapore Health Ministry recorded 12,222 abortions.  Thus, they are many women (and men) out there who have been affected in one way or another by the hurt and trauma of the tragedy of abortion.

Because of the emotional numbness and secrecy that often surrounds an abortion experience, there are many conflicting emotions that arise (both during and after the event) which remain unresolved. These buried feelings may resurface later in life, taking on the symptoms of post-abortion trauma.

Rachel’s Vineyard’s weekend retreats are a beautiful opportunity for anyone who has struggled with such an emotional and spiritual pain of abortion, so as to help them find healing and courage in their journey. The retreat is specially designed to help participants to experience the mercy and compassion of God, and give them the opportunity to release their repressed feelings of anger, shame, guilt, and grief, in a safe and comforting environment.

As this is a Catholic program, the healing process makes use of Scripture as well, to welcome and allow God to heal one’s heart, body, mind, and soul.

The retreat will help participants find the courage to transform the pain of the past, into one of love and hope. It will allow them to confidently journey towards healing with the support of others who sincerely care about them.

If you are suffering from an abortion experience, Rachel’s Vineyard can help you to begin your journey of healing!
